Tractor Newbie

Greetings!

I have finally closed on my place 36 acres (7 pasture/ 29 woods) in eastern Franklin County, Virginia. I'm a complete newbie to tractors but recognize that I need one for scraping, bush hogging, and other property chores. Currently have a John Deere lawn tractor (D140) for the lawn and enjoy using it...but know it's not what I need for the rest of the place.

Looking forward to learning and hearing from the members of this forum.

Welcome, I just bought my first tractor a couple months ago ( Kubota 2320 ). I used to dread seeing the snow coming, now I look forward to it. I can't believe I lived without one of these things.LOL Can't wait to start mowing grass, skidding logs and playing on the property with it this summer. For that 7 acre field I'd get a 30-40 hp (engine) CUT with 4WD, hydrostatic tranny, power steering, FEL with 5 or 6-ft wide bucket and skid steer quick attach, dual rear hydraulic remotes.

If you want to work in the woods, post back with the jobs you want to do there and get more suggestions.
