Tractor lots are full

Just viewed an old Yanmar 4wd, rough but running, asking $2600.
Tractor lots full here too. Car dealers have lots of overpriced cars.
My elec bill doubled, gonna double again, soon as the solar panel subsidies kick in.

In upstate NY, the dealers look to have planty of stock. Also noticing what seems to be a lot of trading activity, e.g., a Yanmar at an LS dealer, a JD at a Kioti/NH dealer....

I'm seeing more used farm equipment advertised for sale than last year. For one thing, I think people are more comfortable that covid isn't the threat that it was. I rarely see masks in the store now although a friend has covid right now.

I suspect the other thing is inflation is eating people's budgets so they are trying to sell off things they aren't using.

The dealers may or may not be in the classic trap of by the time you set your sails to catch the wind, the wind changes.
I think only attention-seeking people call it covid now. We just call it a cold.

People love to tell everybody they have covid like it's some kind of cool thing. Get a life you have a cold. COVID has played out.

 Visit the center for disease control. Playing out yes. Played out? Over? Gone? Not yet.
There are still hot spots in the US, even places with high infection rates. It is still a deadly virus for the old and compromised. Friend's brother is still dying from the blood clots. A result of catching this 'cold'

Now we just have to deal with the aftermath of the forced “vaccine”. Myocarditis, etc.

No biggie, just move on. The mainstream media did an amazing job of acting as a shill for Big Pharma. Every other ad was a Big Pharma/vaccine ad.

I drove by 2 JD and 1 Kubota dealer last Wednesday, here in VT, and their lots as well were chuck full. I wonder who will be buying all those units? While some may buy new or to replace an older unit, as has been previously discussed, most new units are really pricey. Who is going to upgrade or replace if it is economically not feasible? I know that I am not.

Back in 2020, when COVID hit, the 3 RV dealers that I drive by, their lots were empty by the end of the season. First time EVER! People bought RV's then to vacation and still be secluded. Now, those same lots are chuck full as well. However, several people that I knew who bought new RV's in 2020 are now looking to unload them, as they now can do normal vacationing, (hotel/motel), and not have to drag their accommodations.

It seems that just about every manufacturer is advertising 0% interest financing too!

Anyone else notice how tractor dealers lots are now loaded, I drive by 2 JD dealers 2 bobcat dealers and one Kubota dealer all the time and They are full , in fact the kubota and one JD dealer has at least 40 tractors WEonder if they are still selling.
everyone is keeping their powder dry while our government is busy destroying out country and the dollar. i'm recently retired, so any money I have is either in the bank (where it is losing it's value by the day) or social security. either way, we are watching our nation die in slow motion.

My nearest Kubota dealer’s yard is overflowing. But it’s over an hours drive from me.

What I find really strange is that their webpage shows they have almost no inventory. The same two used mechines have been showing as their entire inventory for months now.

They must be relying on mostly locals who drive by and see their equipment. I, for one, am not likely to drive a long distance to see if they have anything.

I have several, non Kubota, dealers much closer to me.

The manufacturers and dealers appear to be very focused on selling new units and financing is the way to get it done I suppose because many customers are going to use financing instead of paying cash.

Indirectly, they can gradually kill off used machines by not continuing to provide parts for them. Or the cost of repairs is so expensive that some customers would rather finance a new tractor than pay a chunk of cash for a repair and then the tractor needs more work later and/or parts for the next unanticipated repair may no longer be available.

There’s still hope for some corrections. Just yesterday I heard the IN guy say he needed four more years to finish what he started. With a little luck….

One of the nearby Ford dealers just upped their shop rate to 189.50/hour. Might be tough to keep any techs with just warranty work.

I was quoted $110 hr at a Mahindra dealer in rural middle Tennessee yesterday, and the seal I think I need for my 20 year old Mahindra 3525 may not be available.

Our lots are full here.

I know one thing! I have been in the market to need and want to buy a tractor. The prices are frigging unreal!! Even used implement prices here are stupid compared to a few years back.

Chinese tractors once sold new for 3-5 grand new now they are selling for 7-9 used.

I've been watching for JD and kubota. I've lowered my sights to RK and Mahindra. Now I just figured to give up altogether till I find a used deal reasonably enough.

I live on north Alabama.

They are starting to switch to CaCl in my area too. It’s less damaging to vegetation than MgCl. Neither are corrosive to vehicles.

Both Calcium Chloride and Magnesium Chloride are corrosive.

i've never bought a new tractor in my life yet , nor did i ever bought a used tractor from a dealer. I try to avoid a dealer like the plaque but for parts i can't get nowhere else.
