Try the Uship web sight. List where its going from, to and when you want it. You will get several bids by experienced shippers. I have used it several times and have had great luck and the prices are usually reasonable.

Fly in, rent a U-Haul load it up and drive home. What would that cost you?
Drive over, rent a U-Haul trailer, drive home. How much is that?
Now, look at the price to have it picked up and delivered to your place.
Then, look at some of the alternatives mentioned re 'dead heading' in machinery forums and the like.

Then, as one suggested, add the cost of delivery to determine the real cost of whatever got your attention to see how it competes with what's for sale at home.

Agreed. Those small tires are not friendly at highway speeds. It might make one long distance trip...might not.

I was looking at the trailer for a fuel tank hauler for a 10 mile low speed trip. I think it would work for that.

Got my eye on a compact utility tractor in Iowa (18 hp). Don't want to buy it until I can find a reasonable, cross-country tractor hauler. Quotes I've gotten so far are pretty steep. Any suggestions? Thanks!

May I ask what is so special about this particular tractor that you can't find a similar one near by?
