So if you drop some copper (tubing, washers, etc) down in a steel fuel tank, is there any danger of interaction between the copper and the sheet steel? Like....will it eat a hole thru the steel tank bottom?

No. Copper is the most neutral metal of all others.

Power Service white bottle for me. Just ordered another 9 12-ounce bottles off Amazon.

That is the stuff I have been using since 2012 when I got my Kioti. One ounce/tank (7 gallons) of fuel. A quart will usually last me two winters.

Project Farm just did a big test on these. Looks like the Hot Shots Secret line of products is one of the best overall.

I bought some Lucas anti gel because I think I bought my 5 gallons of diesel in the summer and was worried it might gel. They had a bottle of Hotshots secret diesel extreme also, and after I read the bottle I decided to try it. After adding the proper amounts to a full tank in Kubota L3130 I ran it for a few minutes and a short drive to get it mixed up. Normally cold starts are pretty smokey in my garage, but the next time I started it a few days later, in single digit temps, it did not smoke at all and was running very smooth! Need to find out the shelf life on this stuff though. Have enough for 80 gallons, that is 4 or 5 years for me.

Just read;Cummins recommends PowerService for their engines.Been using in my Kubota's for 20 years.Treat all my fuel ,year round(never know when you will have summer fuel left over).

We just went through 3 days with highs of 17* and nigh-time lows of 5*.
My Ram’s DEF tank was 3/4-7/8 full. Fuel was untreated.
It had to sit outside all 3 days & nights.

It started & ran fine. DEF tank appears to have survived. I was told it would freeze & crack at 12*
No additives were put in fuel tank or DEF tank.

I don’t know if I’m lucky, or the stuff about fuel additives and DEF freezing is just fear p0rn?

Maybe something is going to happen I don’t know of, but I drove my truck a lot today. No check engine lights….nothing

My def tank went to 20 below a couple weeks ago with no issues. 12 below last night

It can get a lot colder here in Canada and there’s lotsa diesel trucks here too. So not sure about the concern of def freezing if the temperature drops below 12*…
Maybe trucks here have some extra hardware

Most trucks have heaters in the DEF tank, I would assume that tractors do to.

To kill bacteria, just get a bunch of copper pennys, and throw them in the tank. If you want to spend money buy copper washers, or just a foot long peice copper tubing. Copper kills almost all bacteria.

You’ll want old ones, then. Modern pennies are only 2.5% copper
