Tractor Diesel Fuel Additive

The red, stinky Stabil is about as useless as teats on a boar hog in my opinion. I only use Blue, Marine Stabil in my lawnmower / generator gas.

Far as adding alcohol de-icer to your gas tank, totally useless today as it already has alcohol in it's fuel, also known as corn alcohol or ethanol if you prefer.

Anyone that buy's 'Heet' to add to their fuel tanks is totally wasting their money.
Stabil makes a diesel specific additive for storage. I have found that the Stabil for gasoline works pretty well here. It's in all my gas powered equipment when it sits for a long time including the standby generator.

I am amazed by the number of folks that don't add anti-gel to their diesel, I wish them all the best.
The same with a bio-cide.
Getting gelled up and having to fight with a cold gelled system in sub zero F temperatures will usually change that behavior.

SeaBond makes an additive that is a super injector cleaner. My Duramax started to smoke quite badly a couple of years ago, and a tech advised me to try it, and the smoke problem disappeared after two bottles added to full tanks. I now add it spring and fall, and never see smoke! Makes me a believer.
I googled Seabond and all that comes up is Seafoam and denture adhesive ??

I know this subject has been talked about a lot. But I use Killem for algae control, and Howe's for lubricity/water removal. Someone (on another post) mentioned that Howe's was not a good product, but couldn't elaborate why. Is there any product that adds lubricity, increases cetane, and removes water - all in one product?

Project Farm on youtube did them all. Howes lubed less than stock. Hot Shot Secret came out number one the two times he has done it.

Here in central Mississippi, we don't usually get long periods of sub-zero temps. It's not common for folks like me (who don't use their tractors in really cold weather) to forgo the anti-gel additive. Although, I have to admit it certainly wouldn't hurt anything to add that extra layer of protection.

Thanks. I've watched some of his videos in the past; but must've missed that one. I'm going to go look it up.

If one uses Howes for example like I do, is it ok to also add the biocide on a normal fill with fuel?
I've never used the biocide and don't want to deal with the problems it could cause.
Just concerned about adding too many things to the fuel and causing problems too.

I agree. But what is sad is that this should already be added to winter fuel at the bulk plant.

I had been looking and looking for a easy to use quality fuel additive. Came across this stuff and I'm very pleased. I've used it in my Mahindra and New Holland.
Super simple!!!! It is winter time, so I just dumped the whole bottle in, and filled the tank. Noticed less smoke on initial start up and less clattering at idle. In my eyes it was money well spent, and I will continue to use it throughout the seasons.

@Beaud39 I'ven using this stuff in all of my diesels for years, and I swear by it. US diesel is dirty by industry standards. Also, I use a product called Killem for diesels that sit more than others, but after reading some of the threads, I may use it in all my farm equipment. Like someone said, cheap insurance. I think the one person that said the problems aren't worth the risk. What happened to me on a dozer that was having fuel issues. I added the killem to kill the bacteria. I did and then clogged fuel filters, but once I got that cleared up, I have not had any issues since.
