Tractor cleaner

Does anyone recommend a good cleaner for removing
grease, oil, exhaust dirt, dirt, etc., that seems to "ingrain"
itself into the tractor paint? Preferably something that does
not remove the paint itself. I'm just looking for the best way
to get my tractor sparkling clean without eating away paint and metal....

Most any decent car wash detergent will do the job . A car wash mitt also helps . Stay away from the temptation to use house hold dishwashing soap . It can be real harsh on the paint. And , while it's a PITA to do , a good coat of wax on occasion makes washing off the crud a bit easier . John

One of the best things for removing oil and grease is Dawn dish detergent. Simple Green, Purple Power and Greased Lightning also do a good job.

I use Simple Green on my diesel exhaust, let it sit a few minutes and wipe it off. Works great! Also use to clean hands from time to time if I don't feel like getting the fast orange out.

I've used simple green, purple solution, orange solution and kerosene. Just spray or wipe on with a brush, let soak and spray off with regular hose nozzle sprayer. Before the newer stuff was invented, I used to wet, sprinkle with dry Tide and let sit. Then spray off with nozzle.

Sometimes, I use that carb cleaner stuff. Haven't found that it is harmful to the paint.

On non-painted stuff, if you really want it clean and dry, do a final wash with lacquer thinner.

If it isn't really caked on, just using the spray nozzle will be fine, possibly wiped first with a sponge with car wash soap in it. DON'T EVER use one of those pressure wash things around your equipment or engines. The gaskets aren't designed to stand up to such pressure. You may end up putting water past a gasket into transmissions, internal engine parts, etc. On the other hand, I've sprayed engines with a regular sprayer, either city or well water pressure with no problems, maybe an occasional distributor cap that wasn't tight enough had to be removed and water moped out with a paper towel. Water on alternators won't kill them unless they're filthy dirty, and you don't get them clean by the water wash and leave the dirt on there wet. I've never killed an alternator.

I was thinking that some of the boating places might have LED flood lights for the decks for boats....I know I have seen them somewhere but I have just started looking
