I know about that concept. Huddig also uses this type of offset. I will mae the sliding frame because of weight of the machine. Rk 525 was a little too heavy when driving up hill because the boom was far out. With the sliding frame it can come as close to the tractor as possible. That's the main reason for this

Just a little look at the work in progress...on this picture shown on the sliding frame, and folded in transport position...
2nd picture; reaches of the new boom system. Height 7 m, reach 6 m, digging depth 4 m.

It's no problem, just one more command controlled with a 6/2 electric valve. I still have to decide if it's gonna be on left or right joystick. They both have buttons so it won't be a problem

Any idea what the materials and components will cost? Also any plasma cuts and such.

Not at this time. When the whole drawning is done then I will calculate. It will cost more than rk 525 because of a bigger hydraulic system and generally the machine will be larger.

Wow I just read all 948 posts between last night and today. Very impressive. Subscribed to watch the new build. I'm sure it will be just as amazing!

I can't believe this thread got to 948 posts and I also can't really believe it's been viewed so many times...I'm happy to see that people like it. Perhaps it will inspire someone to start something like this on their own

I'm a bit embarrassed to post the project I've been working on. A backhoe mounted log splitter built from rusty scrap steel.

I do plan to build a plasma table so your project has given me inspiration to step up my game!

Wow you plan to build your own table? That sounds challenging. Eventually I will be in the market for a 4ft x 4ft table but I think I want to go with an 'off the shelf' with software, etc. They are pricey though.

Plasma project is on my list too. For now I got all the electronics and motors. Last week I got the Y beam. When I find some more time and money for it, then I'll start building it

I bought a pallet of electric motors at an auction several months ago. It included 3 servo motors which I hope will work for the travels. Need to look into controllers. Unfortunately there are several other projects much higher on the list including a building a new shop so I will look forward to your build in the meantime. How big are you planning to go?

Subframe remained on my tractor, I did not sell it with rk. New machine will be lighter then the previous one so I expect no problems with it. One of the differences is also the position of oil tank. It will be mounted on the tractor between front and rear wheels. That way it will serve as a counterweight and also free some space on the bh frame. Batteries will also be relocated to the front right side of the tractor. They are now behind the drivers seat, and also add weight to the back end because they are behind rear axle. Anyway, I have to move them to free some leg space when I turn the seat...

Will the oil from the tank run fast enough to the pto pump without sucking air, ruining your pumps by cavitation ?
