I agree on guards for the stabilizer cylinders. Maybe combined with footsteps to ease for the operator to enter the drivers seat.

That's a good idea, I will think about it and most probably come up with a guard assembly

Great job on the backhoe build. I agree on the outrigger guards. Ford had them on the older anchors in the 70's that was a telescopic deal th hat covered the ram and hoses on the stabilizers. Also had steps in them.
