We see a lot of postings suggesting/recommending various tractor brands and often some of the justification is the engine's manufacturer, e.g. Yanmar, Mitsubishi, Cummins, etc.

Manufacturing being what it is and assembly plants being what they are, I can't help but wonder about transmissions, axles and hydraulics.
Who are the big axle manufacturers that supply some of the tractor assembly companies ?
i.e. companies that correspond to Dana in truck axles or Dexter in trailer axles.
Similar question on transmissions, I find it hard to believe that all these relatively small tractor companies are designing and building 3 or 4 different transmissions for each tractor model.
Hydraulics, 3 pt, etc. ...on and on.
Eaton ?

I suppose if I had money to invest and wanted to produce (set up a factory to "assemble") tractors I would be shopping for major components.
I don't and I'm not, this is just curiosity, but the component info might help informed shoppers.

Here's another naive question;
Do tractor engines and transmissions mate up on standard bolt patterns ?
i.e. would most cat 1 tractor engines mate easily to most cat 1 transmissions ?
and from there back to the rear axle, is there another set of standard bolt patterns ?
