3-Point Hitch Towing a RV with a John Deere 2320

One thing I have found is it is extremely difficult to back up as i don’t have mirrors on the tractor that reach passed the trailer and you are sitting centered on the trailer.

I have the same problem. That's when I go very slow and have a reliable spotter, my wife.

And I always try to have the trailer straight and centered with the door way before backing it into our trailer shed.

One of the local RV shops where I live has a pair of 4052M tractors that they use for moving equipment around their yard. They have an iMatch and a 3 point receiver hitch.

That's why so many people use some sort of front hitch on their truck/tractor, or a ball on the pallet forks or a ball in the bucket. I welded a 2" receiver tube to the top, front center of my bucket.

There should already be a breakaway cable at the hitch. Just fasten it to the tractor.

I doubt it would breakaway. It would just push the tractor if it gets rolling.

As mentioned there is no down pressure on the 3pt and you can do damage if the trailer tongue lifts up on the 3pt arms. ......Easiest way to prevent this from doing damage is to have a chain down from the 3pt trailer mover to the draw bar of the tractor that will limit the height from going to the top extreme.

^This. If you are using a cross-drawbar mounted on your 3 point hitch. Chain the cross-drawbar to tractor drawbar so it can't raise beyond a limit you set. ...but don't forget about the chain if you later raise the 3 point hitch.

I'd want as much tongue weight as possible when moving trailer: 1) Better tractor traction so trailer can't push you around as much. 2) 3 point hitch less likely to get raised by trailer (if say you're backing up and trailer wheels meet resistance.)

I pulled my 8300 pound trailer up a steep hill to get it to the better views using a 3pt receiver attachment. Tongue weight is your friend for traction...i carried my loader bucket in the grapple as well to give me some extra weight as i was worried about the incline, but on flat ground that shouldn't be as big of an issue. Oh and dry ground helps
