Found myself in a bind at peak mowing season. My John Deere 325 that I've owned for over 22 years broke down at the peak of mowing season. Looked as though I'd be without it for 2 weeks minimum.
On one of my visits to check on my folks (Mom is 83, Step Dad is 92), I asked about a walk behind mower they had and was it still in working order. My step dad replied that yes they had it and had not used it for "a few years" but it worked fine last time he used it. (I was not sure what a "Few Years" means to a 92 year old LOL)
Anyway, my step dad said he'd dig it out of the back of the garage if I was interested. Also said, I could have it as he was not using it anymore.
I picked it up and did the usual stuff to get it started. It was reluctant, but finally came around. I used it to keep the lawn somewhat mowed until the JD issue was resolved.
Here is a picture of it after I gave it some love today. Gave it a good cleaning and and service. It starts first pull and the walk behind feature works great! I was even able to download the owners manual and service manual off the Toro website!
I'll use it for trimming. It will reduce the time I have to use the string line trimmer.
