In regards to the lengths of the toplink they have an adapter that comes with the kit that takes the horizontal fitting on the tractor and makes it a vertical so an implement can swing side to side. With this adapter is how they get the overall lengths with the stroke being 6".

Craig,

I understand everything up to this post but I am missing something here. Could you try explaining this again. I just don't get it.

Mike Jiffy Hitch is in FL it sounds like you could get their video pretty fast it explains everything in it. Basically they use the same cylinder, but use an adapter to adjust for how far off the cylinder is spaced from the tractor. The adapter also allows the implement to naturally swing side to side horizontally. If you look where your toplink connects to your tractor it is a horizontal pin. There is a pin on the cylinder it would obviously not allow the side to side movement. This adapter hooks to the horizontal and allows cylinder hookup vertically. What a mouthful!! Get the video.

Craig,When You get you toplink can you post some photos of it from all sides? I think this would be easy to make if I can see all sides. Sould be able to do it for under a $100.

You got it. It is a said day when the UPS truck doesn't stop. They drove right passed me. I will probably get it next week. I agree it would be easy to make, however, my welding is very limited, and hydraulic knowledge is nill.

Craig,
Did you call them to place your order? I've been trying to call them for a few days now and can't get an answer. If you let the phone ring about 15 times, you finally get a mechanical voice that says "the machine is off".

Thanks,
Hoss

That's not to encouraging. Yes, I just called gave credit card # and shipping info. I think they are open 7-4,5 est.

Mike -

Having the same range of motion on your hydraulic toplink as was on your manual one helps, but how important it is depends on what implements you are using.

If you are looking for one for your TC 25D, I had one installed by my dealer on my TC 33D that should work on yours. They had two options: one was just about as long fully extended as my original was fully retracted. It also had only about a 6" range of motion. That was obviously not going to work (even if I welded an extension on, I didn't like the short stroke on it). I opted for the longer one, which would not go quite as short as my original, but extended out further. It has an 8" stroke. I tried it as-is, and found it worked OK for some implements, but could not shorten enough to tilt my box blade forward to a good angle. Fortunately, there was a bracket on the fixed end of the cylinder that I was able to get cut down as short as it would go... this is working out well. I may eventually cut an inch off the shaft end, but have not really needed to up to this point.

If you are considering a hydraulic top link for your 25D, let me know and I'll try to get the brand and part number off the link for you.

Craig,

Is this unit available for "tilt" also. If so, is there any reason that they can't be used at the same time.

Mike, my friend and I were thinking the same thing after box blade the whole day with the old screw top link and tilting. Tilt wouldn't be as slick as the Tip, because with the toplink as stated you just raise the implement off the ground to let out the toplink with a flick of a lever from your seat, and place implement on the ground a pull forward to shorten. Tilting would be nice.

One thing noticed (and I am an amature) after 6 hours of boxblading I was real frustrated with progress until we sat back and talked about all the dirt we actually moved.

Sometimes when I am tractorin' I want to see dirt just spraying all over the place. Not the safest, and not the smartest.

Craig, did you ever receive the hyd top link? If so, how's it working?

Criag,

Don't want to be a pest but I do want to keep this thread alive.

Any word yet on the toplink?

They had a backorder on the valves I should recieve it today or tomorrow. I have been kinda of busy, I should be recieving my 4310 w/ 420 loader ehydro 4wd today!!! I will make sure to post pictures and operational details.

After reading your post I requested a video through their website. It arrived in no time. One thing I learned from it I thought was an interesting feature. On the self contained toplink you can set it to float. They show an example of it in use. With that feature you can have your bush hog etc. follow the contours of the ground on it's own. This is something a manual twist or to my knowledge a full remote toplink cannot do. Hmmm.....

/ Toplink #35
Hmm is right.

OK TBNers, this seems like a good thing. What are the problems with a floating top link? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

/ Toplink #36
A Floating top link might allow the implement to kick up by pivoting instead of raising straight up. This might only be a problem if the implement is PTO driven.

???????

I have the digital camera and will try to take some pictures of it this weekend. One thing I must say is it is ugly it needs to be painted. It will certainly look bad on my new JD4310. Chief cylinder (red) stainless tubing with weld burns black fluid container that's square and a mint green adapter. Sounds like I will need to paint it. JD green

If you can, take photos from all sides. And does the oil container have a breather hole in it, or is it sealed? What are the lenghs closed and open, pin center to pin center. Thanks for all your effort.

Twanger, just so I'm not confused (which is more than likely /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) you bought the hyd toplink from Jiffy Hitch Systems and it doesn't look like this picture from their web site?

The difference is it is not painted black and the reservoir is more compact flat and square. All post pics
