Just got a quote from my "friendly" kubota dealer:
Tooth bar with non replacable teeth -- $531.00
Tooth bar with replacable teeth -- $587.00
Freight: $40.00
Does this sound high or what /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks,
Rick

Just look at the plethora of pop ups that appear here. There are plenty of sources for toothbars. Markham etc. Take your pick.

nope it does not sound high IT IS VERY HIGH. LOOK AT CARVER, when i bought mine (4 years ago) made by WR LONG del. in 5 days $255 for a 48" I am sure the price has increased , but still bet it will be much below that.

Based upon my purchase and what I've read on TBN, that price is at least $200.00 too high.

Markham Welding 4' toothbar w/replacable teeth was $212.50 late last year. Would be a little higher now because of freight cost.

Delivered third day after I ordered it.

I have abused it and it has taken everything I have thrown at it.

Well I'm the odd one out on this one because I paid $620 for my FFC toothbar. Several things made the price high, 72", "EXTRA" heavy duty, replaceable teeth, built to fit on my bolt-on edge bucket, and and installed by the dealer. It is a good toothbar as it should be for the price I paid.

Please get it so I won't be the one here who paid the most for a toothbar. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

edit: Maybe everyone could weigh their tooth bar and if mine weighed more (a lot more) I could feel justified in the extra expense. (Or would that prove that I'm the odd one out because I now have the least lifting capacity?) /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Spend the money you save on an extra remote. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Mine was $400 installed by the dealer. I don't know the make or how it compares to the other toothbars but it is extremely strong (I lifted a large stump out using just one tooth, not on purpose) and sharp (I have scars on my ankles to prove it). Not only that, the dealer painted it orange!

My vote goes to markham welding , 60" for $200 installed myself in about 22minutes 7 seconds /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif No really it goes on quick and easy.

I'd rather pull my own teeth than pay that much for a toothbar!

Good luck with your decision /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Is this just the toothbar or toothbar and shipping total? My 4' Markham late last year was $150, but shipping NC to CA was another $150. I did not quote my shipping cost because that is such a variable depending on the origin and destination.

My guess is that your $212.50 is cost and shipping total.

Order 2, the shipping is the same, DannyD ordered a 48" toothbar from Markham Welding and also ordered a 48"one for me and both of them with shipping was less than $400. They are heavy.

I needed a toothbar to fit over my bolt-on cutting edge. I ended up getting a Woods 6 ft for about $500 delivered to my dealer.
I could have gotten one from Markham for about $330 delivered, but I would have had to remove my bolt on cutting edge. I've seen a lot of bent buckets and I didn't want to lose the additional strength of my cutting edge.
I installed my tooth bar in about 30 min - and I'm slow!
I used a hole-saw for the bolt holes.

Thanks for the help, guys!!!!
Am going to check out a couple of dealers on Friday and see how much gold they want to line their pockets with.
Now if someone can tell me how to remove the cover under the dash board, I will be able to install the alternator upgrade kit.
THANKS!
Rick

milstencil:

I just finished building a 72" 8 tooth toothbar for my L-39.
The materials cost approx. 13.82 per tooth plus shipping from Binkley & Hurst in PA. THis is the second tooth bar I have built with the teeth supplied by them. I ordered the teeth on Monday and they arrived on Tuesday. I used 3/8" x 4" flat stock for the upper & lower bases. The total cost was approx $170.00 for materials & 4 hours time with the welder.
I used the design by "Chim" posted here in the fall of 2002.
I'll attempt to attach a few pictures.
If you have access to a welder, this is a fairly easy project.
