Toolcat in the Timber

We've been cutting up oak for firewood in a timber approx. 5 miles from home. Initially we would saw up everything onsite then load it on a trailer, head home and unload it. It's been hot here and I'm struggling to find time so I decided to take the Toolcat along to load logs that I can cut up later.

The first pic shows the Toolcat about to load smaller limb wood.

The next pics show the Toolcat loading a green oak log I cut into two pieces.

Nice oak, too bad your not cutting up that tree for lumber...I love rough hewn oak boards! They are a pain to cut/drill as they eat through blades/bits, a bear to carry in any length over 8', but as pretty as can be.

I'll bet the cool A/C in the cab makes that job even less a chore, eh? Now you just need to fabricate a splitter for the machine and you'll be a firewood making fool!

If I had my own mill I probably wouldn't have cut the log in two. I have a need for some longer lumber. Some day maybe.
