Speaking of (apparently) re-inventing the wheel [yes, I know, nobody did... however]:
Back in my Navy days I had a 9" metal marlin spike in my "guns" (urp) plus a medium adjustable crescent wrench that was flopping around and wondered if a shipwright tiffy could cut & weld the top of the wrench to the top of the spike. I realised that they were two different types of metals but there was no harm in asking. ( a few beers and the challenge was the cost). Well, the tiffy was successful and I've still got that combined tool, which I dubbed the "Unholy Alliance".
I recently found out that this tool actually exists and is called a "Spud Wrench". :cool2: That's mine beside the 'urp'.
