Tomatoes Not Growing

Wife sent me this, figured it would be a good spot to share.

My wife said this tomato was getting a little frisky with my other tomatoes. It can turn around and be ready with a moments notice. :shocked:

My squash are out in my two brick planters and are doing well. The "soil" in these planters is almost 100% home grown mulch. The pocket gophers can't get to them in the planters.

We had a fantastic garden when we first moved here. Everything was better than you could buy at the grocery store.

Then the chipmunk, deer, mice and pocket gophers found the garden. We fought it for three years and then gave up. The "critters" wouldn't even agree to a 50/50 split. They took it all.

Now it's just Acorn squash in the two brick planters.

We just had a really hot spell with temps. up to 117 one day and it wiped out our tomatoes and really hit the avocados hard. It hurt a lot of the landscaping hard too but that doesn't matter like the food bearing plants. I guess domestic avocados from Southern Ca. are going to be high next year.

With our very, very late warm temperatures, it is nice to finally get tomatoes. Yellow variety plus a number of reds.

Yup, starting to get a decent crop now too.

Cold nights close to freezing but vapour barrier over tomatoes is finally starting to get some of them to turn orange. Have not eaten ONE yet!
