It's been raining so much lately that we have some new visitors to our pastures, wading birds. I believe that these are White Ibis but I am not positive. There were some solid white ones with them but they flew off before I got my camera. Oddly enough, they are not very timid and allowed me to get fairly close for a photo.

What camera/lens combo are you using? If you don't mind me asking?

I use a Sony digital DSC-H5 with 12X optical zoom. Nice camera, with lots of features, many of which I have not figured out yet. Instruction book is similar to my high school Physics book but a little harder to understand. Beats the heck out of my old Brownie.;)

7.2 megapixel -- and that 12x lens is a licensed Carl Zeiss with image stabilization. Here's a good review of the camera:

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 and DSC-H2: Digital Photography Review

See this old topic, where I strongly recommended the H5 to those who don't want to pay for a true digital SLR. I love mine -- much, much better quality pics (not just pixel count, but exposure, clarity, hue, etc.) than the Canon it replaced.

Caution: The newer Sony H7 and H9 (15x zoom with higher resolution) are not getting nearly as good of reviews...

I've already learned that if I drop a nut or some part while working on my car and can't find it, I can take a high def photo and put it on my computer and find it there easier.:) (while in the air conditioning)
