When our contract came to an end last Nov, we had to de-mobilize our offices. In one was a shelf about 4' high and almost as wide. I took it home and put it in my garage for helmets, since bith me and DW both ride ATV and motorcycles.

We don't want the helmets, dickies and glove liners exposed to the dust and dirt inside the garage coming off the vehicles. So, I made a set of doors to cover the cabinet. Just some sanding and then mount them tomorrow.

My wife bought me a Plasma cutter some time back. I didn't use it much due to work commitment but since I will be out of work till about March I drove to a steel supply store and bought several steel plates to do few improvements to our fire pit and garbage burning furnace. We used to burn paper and garbage in a barrel. We had it several years but it eventually rusted a collapsed. I had several 1'X4' 1/4" steel plated laying around and welded burning pan from them. The problem was that the paper didn't burned too well due to limited air flow. So I cut a hood and 4 ft tall chimney today and welded it to the top. I finished it too late to take pictures. The first burn produced pretty good humming noise and flame going about 2 ft above the chimney top. I will post pics tomorrow and and some time later a video of next burn.

Be sure to put a grate in the chimney to keep the pieces of burning paper inside. Been too many fires started from stray pieces of burning paper.

I already see that I have to modify the design little bit. I will split the door to make the top and bottom open independently to make it easier to dump paper in. To put screen on the chimney is excellent idea (as aczlan suggested). We have 33 ac of prairie just 50 ft away.

Video of said projectile is of course mandatory!
The projectile is a 2 liter or 16oz bottle. I had a junk store bought one that inspired this build. It claimed 100 feet launches and wasn't far off. It would go higher then the mature oak tree by my driveway. Any guesses on how many psi a bottle will hold? Mine isn't quite done. I couldn't get the sealing o ring cut deep enough without cutting the pipe in half. I may end up swapping it for a threaded fitting and making a metal barrel.

This MAY be of interest to you. You should be able to find articles of it and others on line.

Garbage furnace after modification of the door. Now I can add more paper even when the fire is already burning without a danger some of fallimg out. Also added a screen on the top.

We've done these with a father/son camping group, the kids love it as do the adults. With the correct nose weight, water amount and fins they can go quite high and straight. Higher than the trees by a decent amount. The ones I see they air up with a little pancake compressor, i think around 100 psi but memory is fuzzy on that. There are a bunch of Instructibles on how to make them.

According to mythbusters the length of time on the floor has very little effect on the amount of germs the food picks up.
