Anyone know how to change engine oil filter without getting oil all over side of motor. The clean up takes me longer than oil change.

Can you poke a hole in the top to break the suction, like with a scratch awl, to allow the oil to drain to the oil pan? With it being upside down, I wouldn't think it would have that much in it.

Why don't you use a plastic bag or small trash can?

Shouldn't be much different than my NH. Do not remove immediately and no oil will be in the filter. But then I never gave it a thought about oil running down engine. Change oil and back to work.

I assume you are draining the engine oil first with the filler cap removed and the dipstick just a tad pulled. The oil should flow out freely from the engine/pan. Most of the oil from the filter will be drained by the time, the oil from the pan flows to a trickle. Then you could tackle the filter. Would you be able to post a picture of the filter set-up area?

if nothing works you can do a remote filter adaptor and put the filter in a better spot
