Tractor
kubota m7040/ jd 2155
When I bought my m7040 in june, tractor was at old price, it had goodyear tires on the front and firestone on the rear. Others at another dealer had the same. I got 16.9x28s instead of the 30in rim on the rear. This gives a little more stability in hilly country, I thought. Is getting two different brand of tires on a new tractor common, they told me that was the way they were comming at the time. Also it is 4wd.

I don't think it is uncommon. Many offer a variety of tires and need to have the correct ratio for 4wd machines. Some tire company's don't offer the side wall height needed to achieve the ration between front and rear. The angle of the lug might also be different to offer better traction. I can think of 3 or more tractor that are set up like this.

Makes sense, didnt know, it just seemed a little odd on a new tractor.

My new Kubota B7800 came with Goodyears on the rear and Titans on the front.

Goodyear and Titan are the same company. Titan bought Goodyear's agricultural tire product line and name a few years back. Brands are an insert on a tire mold.
