My L3130 came from the dealer with the R-4 rear tires set at the narrowest track width. I couldn't chain up in this position and even the next position (gain about 1" in total track width) would be too close to the inner fender. I don't see any limits in the manual on the widest position which would move the track width about 5" wider than it is. I will have the BH on most of the time. Is there any issue with axle load or bearing load with the tires at the widest position and the BH90 hoe attached?

If there was a problem with loads on the axles, why would they put the extra holes in the shafts to move the hubs out on them. If it under warranty why worry about it. I would move them out far enough to get the chains on.

Hey Jim, Keep bumping into to you today. You're right, can't imagine they'd set it up that way if it were an issue... now that you made the point. Us greenhorns see all the mistakes that can be made and get a little anxious sometimes. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Appreciate the reply.

Your wheel clearance looks about the way mine came from the dealer. If your disc is dished to the inside then swap your tires(rims) side to side and you should be at maximum tread and maintain the proper rotation direction. If I remember correctly the rotation direction is marked on the tires. I don't see any problem since this all explained in the manual.

Thanks for confirming the change over. Your description is how I was seeing it after a bit. I didn't think about tire direction initially but your right, they need to swap sides. What's your take on the wider stance?

If you need the wider stance, go for it. The load in still applied at the same point on the axle. Since I don't anticipate the need for chains ever I will keep mine where they are. This is from memory but when you swap, the bolt lug on the rim should be on the outside. Let us know how it goes.
