Tire capacity

Search in Google or Bing for ballast tire chart brings up lots of results. Hydro-Flation Table for AG Tires - Rim Guard - Liquid Tire Ballast That chart suggests 38 gallons per tire. Hardly seems worth it to put in 40 pounds of ballast per tire.

Rim Guard is about 11 lb. per gallon. That's about 418 lb. per side. Adds 836 lb. to tractor

Someone sent me a note. The read between the lines I did not grasp was he pumped in some antifreeze and then topped it off with water. That should give him plenty of ballast and freeze protection.

here's what my chart shows

75% Fill

· Straight Water: 52 gal

· Water & 3.5lbs/gal: 41 gal

· Water & 5lbs/gal: 38 gal

According to it one 43X16-20 tire holds about 41 US gallons at 441 lbs.

Norco says "38 gallons, 410 pounds per tire, for rear tire size 43x16-20 R4 ; total of 800 lbs." (includes 3038E)

Another vendor says 52 gallons - that might be totally filled. (See Tera Tires)

On my tractor, I have the same size tire.... R4, took 40 gals each to fill to the stem at 12 o'clock. I used -20 windshield washer fluid.
