I am in need of assistance. I have been struggling to get my 155 to start like it should. I think that I have finally diagnosed the problem to be the injector pump. I sent it out to IFS in Toledo and they said that it was worn out. They rebuilt it for me, but now I need to set the injector timing. Through my saga of rebuilding and sending the block and head out for crack checking and machining, the timing pin is no longer usable. I have been unable to locate another one, and thus need to make one.

My favor is thus, is there a fellow YM155 owner out there that can take a picture of their timing pin and send it to me or post it on the photo's section of TBN. The following link (http://www.partsandservice.com/db/pl/Yanmar/135-155.02.15.gif) shows roughly where it is and what it looks like (item #9), but the sketch doesn't provide enough detail for me to make a new one. Thank you-N8

The Pointer is no longer available new, but I should have a good used one.

Danny, I just sent you a PM.

Everyone else, a photo might save me a few bucks. Any takers?

Hi N8,
I took a few pics of the timing pin on my 155D. Due to the location, it was tough to get a decent picture. Probably makes sense to get one from Danny.

You probably know this already, but my service manual says the injection timing is adjusted by 0.1 mm thick shims within the injector valves. Adding or subtracting a .0039" shim results in approximately 1 degree change. The FI indicator is supposed to be 24 degrees before TDC (top dead center).

Hope this helps.

Swedish-fish, thanks for the photos. Danny1 is checking to see what he has available. In the mean time, I might try to make one.
