Would someone suggest a suitable tiller for a Farmall Super A tractor? I own a 1950's model with 3 point hitch.
It should be fine, as he said he has sand and the ground has been worked in the past. Most folks til at too slow of a speed anyway, destroying their soil structure!
Also, the A does have a 4 speed tranny...

You can, and in most cases, SHOULD! Instead of crawling along pounding the soil to death!Why can't I till the same ground two times if it does not do the job on the first pass. That is what I do with the disc.
I agree that most people over till and destroy the soil structure, rarely do I see anyone but myself use the higher ground speeds in my locale.
That said, with only 16 hp. at the pto. and 2.3 mph in 1st gear the engine may have a hard time with a 48" tiller.
