seems like the belts are slipping/squealing a little too easily. put an 8 HP Honda on a 71 horse!. belts are new. can the distance between the upper and lower pulleys be increased? thanks

Try following the attached link. I did not use the " tool" they refer to, i just adjusted back and forth until the belts stopes squealing and yet it shifted into position easily. The link may nt be exactly like yours, but it should be close. I don't know which model that is.

Like I mentioned, don't get too worried about the tool they have, just adjust back and forth until you get it not to squeal but stay in position. Good luck.
