Tier 4 Emissions delete

You need to find a different dealer. There never were any Tier 3 engines in the less than 75 Hp category. Since he does not know that, what else does he not know?

Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but my R4047 has a Tier 3 engine.

It is complicated for sure.

Here is a link to the EPA Website showing non-road emission standards.

Your R4047 is 47 hp. As shown in the EPA table I linked to, the less than 50 hp (37 kW) went directly from Tier 2 to Tier 4. In the less than 75 hp (56 kW) there could be some Tier 3 engines if the manufacture took advantage of any of the foot notes. (Like I said, it is complicated!)

I don't bother referring to engines in Tiers in discussions of a specific engine unless it is miss information. I prefer to refer to an engine as either having exhaust after treatment (DOC or DPF) or not and this is readily apparent looking under the hood.

And in this link LS sales brochure shows the Mitsubishi S4QL-D engine as an Interim Tier 4!

I'll just go with the EPA Regs as truth.

Well, I don't have dpf or any extra plumbing or regens so its a pretty user friendly and trouble free interim tier 4 tier 3.

But does it actuate externally on the pump or internally? If it's externally, it's easier to "deal" with it.

the fuel injection pump must have a solenoid for the limp mode then, since the fuel injection pump is mechanical. you'd just need to know if it has to be energized, or turned off to give normal operation.. then you can just ignore the computer..

The focus is on trucks but watch to the end (8:31 in) he talks about tractors.

At 2:20ish into the video, he talks about the EPA's National Compliance Initiative on stopping aftermarket defeat devices and the language of the new rules and the action of the EPA. The guy is reading from some article and says that the ruling against the tuner said something to the effect that all on or off road vehicles which were supplied with emissions equipment must not be modified... Listen to his words and check out the links he provides for more information.

Other posts in this thread have stated that the EPA is getting more aggressive. Those statements are correct. Be careful about posting of companies who can do emissions delete work. Don't name them and do not state where they are. The EPA is watching threads like this one.

I like the guy's speculation of what it would be like to have the EPA show up at a tractor pull...
