I have a 424 with 125 hours on it. The throttle lever will no longer hold a set RPM, it keeps drifting back to idle. It seems as if something needs to be snugged up a bit. What am I looking for, where is it located and what is the procedure for restoring the friction needed to hold a throttle setting?
Anti help,would be appreciated, thanks.

Lots of looks but no help. I'll take a stab, but I know nothing of your tractor. If it's a lever type throttle, there would likely be a friction disk set up where the lever pivots. I would try and tighten that pivot. It's probably a bolt as a pivot and you would just tighten the nut.

Thank you KW, it has to be something simple, just needed a little direction.

I have this same problem, however my RPM drifts down to about 2500RPM. I was thinking there must be a spring somewhere but the friction disk makes more sense. Will look under the console today.

BSLMS where in upstate are you located?
