Stan,

I like your design.

So many good ideas here!

I make these all the time for about $30, cheaper when I can get a free hitch.

I sold one and the rest I have traded for work. Last one I traded to a concrete guy to pour and finish a 15x40 slab 5" thick.

Its a fun and easy welding project if you have the equipment. I use a chop saw, welder, drill press, and angle grinder.

NICE trade!!!!!!!!

Yes, about 2 hours of my time to cut, weld, and paint it up. It was really a fair trade though on both parts because the guy was going to buy one for $300 at the farm store till I showed him mine that was heavier built with hooks and such built in.

I'm sure the guy wouldn't be out much since that's what he does and the cement was probably "left overs" from another job, but my 22' X 26' garage floor 5" deep was about $2000 if I remember from about 6 years ago. Not a bad trade at all if you say your cost is only about $30 for a hitch!

No, I paid for the concrete. It was 10 yards, $1000.

I just traded out the labor.

That makes sense, otherwise there would have been a bridge somewhere missing a little concrete! Still a great deal.

I simply picked up a hitch tube from the local trailer/welding shop, and welded it to my 5' box blade. That way, I can leave the box blade in place and still use the hitch to move trailers around the house. I don't have a pic, but it has worked very well (and is extremely handy). I've moved trailers as big as my Pace 22' enclosed car trailer, and it has held up just fine.

For me, I really have no use for a 3-pt style hitch assembly, as I leave my box blade attached to the tractor the majority of the time. It would be a pain to have to drop the box blade, hook up the 3-pt hitch, just to move a trailer around (especially when I can use the box blade with the hitch). However, I must admit that StanR's design is impressive, and I may weld one up just for the heck of it.

StanR, similar to mine that I made for my 1980 Kubota B7100. Used it to skid out 5 cord of Maple firewood this Feb. I run my chain through a loop on the lower hitch & up to the top link attach point. That way you are pulling from lower down & lifting from the upper attachment point. I didn't invent it, saw it on one of these tractor forums somewhere .....
