Three point hitch log skidder

Saw an ad in the farm news for a Brave products inc. 3pt. hitch log skidder. "If you've got a tractor with a three point hitch you can do your own logging". Uses 3pt hitch and tractor hydraulice to lift up to #3000. Grabs logs up to 40". Looks like a heavy boom with a graple. Just guessing but I don't think my 14hp Yanmar is going to drag any 40" logs out of the forest./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif "Introductory price $1899.99. I just use a 6' length of logging chain with hooks on the ends. I lower the bar onto one end of a log, adjust the chain tight as possible, then lift the end of the log, when I'm ready to drive off. I'm driving a Mitsubishi D1800, so it isn't much more powerful than yours. I occasionally have problems getting hung up on old stumps, but can pull quite a large log in a straight line.

Earlier, there was a discussion that these 3ph logging systems might cause too much pulling stress to the top link.

Personally, I've never used one... just use a lower link drawbar & a logging chain.

An old VW Beetle hood, turned upside down under log nose, makes for a good sled and a easy pull when using a chain.
