Thank goodness my flag pole install went better than Harv's tetherball pole went. Dug the hole with the 12" auger and hit water......./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif been raining a lot here. Bought a telescopic flagpole from Sunsetter for the front yard.
I guess hitting water is better than hitting a mountainous boulder.

Sure, rub it in, dude! /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Looks like you did a fine job, but you missed out on a lot of seat time. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Jerry
Look like the same flag pole mount as I have. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif See Attached picture.
I have to ask the same question as TonyC. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif What is the small pipe for?

Around here you're certain to hit a boulder twice as big as any hole you'd like to dig. That's why we have another name for the post hole digger.... backhoe!

Tony........ron,
MikePa is right, thats for the electric I will be running out there soon. Need to light it at night.

I believe it is a federal law that flags have to be either lighted at night or taken down.

It is USC Title 4, Sec 6, Time and occasions for display

It is law....but not law that will get you arrested and charged with a crime. It simply tells civilians how they SHOULD display the flag.

Jerry,

Something to keep in mind when you do light it. A flag is best lit from three positions, roughly 120 deg apart. That way when the flag is blowing in the wind, you don't lose sight of it ie one dimension. If you can't do it from three positions try to at least get two.
