all - i have a 4410 with ~ 660 hours, a 430 FEL and a 72" 3 pt rear discharge JD (frontier) mower. i also have a 5' JD bush hog and a 5 ft country line tiller.

i'm toying of changing from the 4410/3 pt mower to a 2720 with a 62" belly mower. i really like and want the rear discharge but its cumbersome to maneuver as i have fencing, trees, strawberry patch etc to go around. i figured the 2720 will be easier on my lawn and to tow as its ~1000 lbs lighter.

the machine will be primarily a mower/brush hog, some loader work and tilling up food plots. dont know if i 'need' the bigger machine since i'm not going to really be 'pulling' anything like a disc/plow, and the loader use will be random and i believe the 200cx isn't that much less than the 430.

interested in peoples thoughts. i do like the 4410, just wondering if i'd be better off with a smaller tractor. i'm tempted with the new hollands too, as they have rear discharge mid mount mowers.

Unless you have something else I am missing, I would even go to a 2520 unless you are doing a lot of 5' bush hogging, but you are correct the 20 series is much easier to two and to manauever with a belly mower.

also easier to look down at what your cutting(belly mower) then having to turn your neck all the time to look behind you with a pull behind......:)

Actually, that's not too necessary once you know the area you're mowing. Mid Mount Mowers are great if you use the tractor as a mower mostly...RFM's are great if you use the tractor for other purposes frequently.

IMHO, if you're doing much loader work - you would be making a considerable sacrifice in that department. The basic loader specs show only 350 lbs.(approx.) lifting difference, but the 4410 outweighs the 2x20 series by about 1000 lbs. as you mentioned. By the time you would ballast each machine, the loader capabilities would be quite different. If mowing is your prime use, the 2x20 machine would probably satisfy you and be easier on your yard. In your shoes, I'd see if I could get a demo on my property to compare before making a decision.
