The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!!

Over the years I have gotten pretty good at knowing where the wood needs to be in reference to the sides of the trailer per given load. The first few years were a lot of stacking and measuring, now I can just eye ball it. I always put a little extra in, I would rather have a happy customer and loose out on a chord or so over a season rather than short someone. Short them and you will never get them back.

I sell by the chord. I have a few local customers that get a half but it is really not worth the time for me.

I do not stack, no exceptions. I learned the hard way early on and I do loose some jobs because of it. But everyone wanted it stacked 1/2 click away behind the shed, thru a tiny gate, do not mess up the grass, uphill both ways, stack it perfect, etc, etc. No chance....

Just another attaboy for EA customer service. Called with a question on my 50" single lid that I use on a B2650, works great. Loaned it to friend with a 55 horse tractor :banghead: and had to screw out the clevis on the cylinder since the lid would not close all the way. Didn't see anything badly bent so I thought I'd call.

Phone answered on the first ring by someone who could answer my question (sorry didn't get his name) no automated system, no operator, real live customer service as soon as the phone was picked up. He explained that something was bent, I said don't see anything but OK and was going to say thank you and hang up. Nope he wouldn't let me off the line until he explained exactly how it probably happened and I had to agree.

What did I learn? Don't use a grapple meant for a B2650 on a DK5510 and that there are still companies out that know the meaning of customer service. I'll buy my next piece of equipment when the time comes from EA

A 55hp tractor would not put more stress on your lid cylinder used properly since it is powered by hydraulic pressure which should about the same as your tractor. Was he abusing the grapple?

We're always eager to assist, Dave! Customer service is King.
Discussing what could've/would've caused the issue should prevent future occurrences.

This "how not to use a grapple" video illustrates some of the things I mentioned.

Lid cylinder is fine. The problem is all the pulling, tugging and twisting getting trees out of the ground tweaked the grapple a little. Unscrewing the clevis on the end of the cylinder to give a longer stroke let the lid close fully. I'm not happy with only having half of the clevis threads engaged. Could go with a 5" cylinder instead of the 4" but that will reduce distance the grapple opens. Not sure I can un-tweak the grapple without damaging the hitch or loader. Could take it see if I can find a body shop that would put it on their frame rack and give it a tug. I look at my options one being to do nothing :anyone:

The customer service at everything attachments is fantastic. I had a cylinder on my grapple just barley leaking I just called on what to do or if it was a concern, I was given a new cylinder free of charge and I wasn't even looking to replace it. That is the reason for me purchasing my extreme box scrapper from them. I won't look anywhere else for implements or attachments. I'm currently looking into a snowblower and I have my sights set on their's. There help and knowledge is great and no matter who you talk to down there its always friendly and helpful.

Cool. Replace the seal on the current cylinder and you have an extra complete cylinder for your next project
