I work for a machine shop founded in 1927, flat belts were gone by the time I started. It had to move in the the 50's for I-70. The first machine I ran was a shaper as old as I was :)

Thanks. That was greater than great. I have not seen an active line shaft powered shop in my life. Looked at a huge 15 HP hit and miss that powered a shop near me about 40 years ago but it had been closed for years but was still in tack but the guy in his 80's was cashing out as the building was getting in poor condition.
