I am a fan of the Keep It Simple Stupid principal, but a lot of this technology on the tractors is plain cool. Also, a lot of the technology makes them safer. Farm equipment is some of the most dangerous stuff you can be around. I can have my wife drive the 4720 wit the HST trans and power steering - no problem. I know should could not drive the ole JD model 40 I grew up on, she is not strong enough.

The product lines are so diverse these days; there is a tractor for everybody.

Yep, I wish I still drove the old fashion semi tractors. No air ride suspension, no air ride cab, no power adjustable air ride seat, no A/C, (it's fun to pour buckets of ice on the floor to stay cool while driving in 110 degree desert heat), no tilt and telescopic steering wheel, no cruise, no power or heated mirrors, no power steering, low engine torque, 3 mpg instead of 6 mpg, no CD player, had to shift with 2 shift levers instead of flipping a switch to change ranges...
