Old school would be nice too. I saw a cool door combination lock using steel plate cams and porcelain knobs the other day.

Our latches throughout are all the type that have a lever that lifts the slide up over the catch.....We are regularly catching clothing or worse just bumping into the protrusion, and it hurts...Authentic, but it has it`s drawbacks Tony

A door handle isnt too bad. Couple hours at most. Ive made some pretty nice ones out of railroad spikes...

Yep, the expanding glue. It holds well, is water activated which also means it's water proof, can be sanded and stained and the holding power on wood is fantastic.

Motor7, you are doing a great job on your place. Question, exactly which glue did you use? Can I get the brand name and the type? I usually use something like Liquid Nails, etc. that I get at the box stores and it sounds like what you use is substantially stronger. Thank you and keep up the good work! Stanley
