the last person paying bills by check?

One help wouild be to fix the edit so a post can be cancelled the way other forums do.

They can be for 24 hours after you make the post (other than on the Front Porch and Friendly Politics forums).
Click the edit button, then the advanced button and there is an option to delete in the advanced editor.

I write 12 checks a year, to AGCO. It's the only loan I have that I can't pay electronically. Other than that everything is paid online. Only time I use cash is for dinners in the firehouse. My cc gets used for everything else. I put it in my register as if I wrote a check and keep an eye on my balance that way. I can pay it off in full every month with out having to check my account balance. Makes for some good rewards a few times a year.

IIRC, you cannot delete a post in there (to keep people from making inflammatory posts, then deleting them).

Partly why I've refrained from entering...I have as thick of a skin as they come...and nothing is more satisfying than proving to a moron what a goof they are when it comes to their political biases:laughing:...but omnipotence is rare and solid arguments work both ways...
...but one of the main reasons I've not bothered is because regardless of the side...I just can't cope with those that do nothing but repeat rhetorical, stereotypical synopses, adjectives and mantras (regardless of the side)...and believing that anyone that expresses a similar view to those expressed by media personalities etc., etc., etc....are disciples of said talking heads...and have no mind of their own...

The other reason I've never even taken a peek at what goes on in there...is because I mostly look at TBN as a place to find help and information (some of which may not be available anywhere else due to contributor experience)...and other than what I interpret from the open forums (until lines are crossed) there is no need or advantage for political divides...

Not that it really matters but can they not just suck the payment directly from your checking account electronically?

I get a letter once a year from Kubota saying it'd be real swell of me to send them some money. I call the 800 number, confirm my account number (for the loan and bank), then they record me basically saying "yes, I am who I say I am, please take my money ".

Not that I know of. I could probably call and talk to someone. There is a website I can sign into to see all my past payments and account balance, but nothing to begin automatic payments.

Time is the only thing we can't buy or get more of. I was at the grocery store in the 10 or less items line. The guy in front of me had less than 10 items. So far ok. The cashier rang up his items with a total. He was wearing a backpack. He proceeded to remove the backpack, dug around and found his checkbook, then wrote out the check. The rest of us could have gone through the line, paid and been out the door. He was an inconsiderate ***hole. I hope you have a little more consideration for other people than that.

I'm a little better ... I usually have the check signed, dated and all but the amount filled out. HOWEVER ... when some ***hole behind gets an attitude I can be know to drag it out. I did have a guy ask me once if I'd ever heard of credit cards? I didn't answer him but I did ask the clerk to have someone price check an item cause I believe she overcharged me ... he then told me he was in a hurry and needed to get going ... I told him feel free to get going!!!!!

I'm really a pretty nice guy .... most of the time!!!

I don't mind waiting behind someone writing a check. I do get grumpy when the checker starts gabbing with someone paying with or without a check. If it lasts more than a minute or so, I ask them to wrap up.

I was paying city business taxes today.... options were go to the city desk with cash or check or pay by mail with a check.

Both methods require one check for each account... I was paying 4 accounts and had to write 4 separate checks from the same checking account and each check required the business license and address...

We all went with him to the campus police desk where he dumped a pile of pennies on the counter while we all laughed our heads off......

Until the cagey cashier pushed them back and said "you count them".

I like the 1.5% back from my CC so that's how I usually pay. They owe me about 500$ right now. Last time I cashed it for over 700$ in 2014. We never carry a balance of course and it's no fee.

Yes we do the same total for 2015 was $1475 FREE $$$$$$$ . Everything goes on 2 cards, buy a coffee for a $1.00 it goes on the card, so fast how it builds up. Oh yea then we go on line and pay it off each month NEVER carry a balance, not in 35 years.
