The joys of septic tanks

Everyone knows the saying "If a person falls and no tree around to hear it then there isn't any noise" or something like that.
I have had root problems from time to time, it seems amazing some of the places they can get.
Local septic guy dumps rock salt all around the tank before filling in the hole and recommend copious amounts to be added to the clean-out yearly.

Water migrates towards the sound?

Hey license that and then you can dowse water wells!
Royalties would be great, only problem it only works on a flat earth.

Also bet you could get free publicity on that TV show that funds inventions, or they will invest in your idea and market it for you.

Does it also work in the arctic or only near the warmer climates, maybe ice cubes interfere with the sound, AKA frigid interference.

I am pretty sure I had a g/f that had that affliction!

Neither do snakes but they hear.

But they feel vibrations and a brain.

Which way a plant's roots grow can be influenced by a number of things, such as gravity, light, nutrients and water.

I wasn't joking, just making an assumption based on what I've seen roots do to locate running water lines and pipes. After seeing replies thinking I was joking I googled the subject and found many scientific studies that prove it's true. Plant roots do listen and grow in the direction of running water, water lines, drain pipes, etc. Sound waves are just vibrations after all, so it's not that far fetched to believe they grow toward the sound of water to survive.

After laughing. Yesterday I googled, in case you continued this. I didn't read anything about a plant listen, without ears Light and moisture.

Plants don't have ears.

Maybe plants use "divining rod" technology????

Vibration.

How often is water running through through your home sewer? Probably more vibrations coming from the road.

I'll go with they have nothing to do all day buy grow, looking for moisture.

If it was noise they would be at my backdoor chasing my dogs, like little shop of horrors.

Okay getting you Yahoos (as my dad used to say way before the internet) back on track... Decided to go the dry clean route. I waited for the sun (yeah lucky break) dried out most of the dirt and then used a stiff brush and my shop vac to clean the surface around the two openings. Mixed up some JetSet mortar. Man, that stuff stiffens up fast! I learned the 'hard' way.

:smiley_aafz:

Set both the adapter plate for the 24in riser and the 12in riser. Let it cure for awhile. Then dropped the 24in riser on and caulked around the bottom on the inside of the riser with some silicone sealant.

Waited a bit and then started gently shoveling to backfill around the risers. It didn't take me long to decide to put the front bucket back on (no big deal w/ my trusty QA)! Pushed the rest of the dirt around and did some tamping.

Final move today was to put the tractor away under cover and see if I could straddle or go around the covers. Ended up going around the side. Note the tracks No issues, yeah!

Time for a glass of wine and celebrate a job complete... well almost. I will let it settle and then throw a yard of 3/4 crush cleaned on to level it off and toss some grass seed where the dirt spilled on to the lawn during the dig. Rains are coming tomorrow... glad I knocked it out today!
