B.J. Thomas, of Houston, 79 years. 1942-2021
Lost a good friend this weekend. Byron Berline. Well renowned fiddler, founding member of the Bluegrass group Country Gazette. Played with the Dillards when they were making appearances on the Andy Griffin show as the Darlings. He was an in demand session fiddler in California. Played on recordings by the Rolling Stones (remember the fiddle break on "Honky Tonk Woman"?), Bob Dylan and most country stars of the period. Did the soundtrack and appeared in the "Deadwood" series.
Retired to Guthrie, Oklahoma and opened his Fiddleshop and Music Hall and still played with the Byron Berline Band. Loved to play golf (that's how I met him) and was a fine family man and friend. Died from complications of a stroke, was 77 years old. RIP old buddy!

RIPJust read that Robby Steinhardt, violinist, singer, and founding member of the prog rock band Kansas, has died at 71 of acute pancreatitis.
Always loved the music from those guys.
Yes, we are beginning to all sound like your dad. It's official, I'm getting old.
That said, I still cover my dads Sirus XM radio for his car because he can access the 40's and 50's dedicated stations on the radio (and when he lets me drive it, I love the 70's and 80's LOL).
When I hear him speak of singers and bands "long gone", I'm starting to sound more and more like him.
Rock and Roll will never die.
Last Concert I can remember was Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
Yeah, uh, no... there's plenty of "real" young and talented musicians out there today. All the real musicians are old, dead or dying...Truly there's any music left.
