That's the local name for the plastic bag of advertising material and sale flyers that get stuffed in a plastic bag and then hidden in the snow at the end of my lane each week. I find most of them proactively, but some I find with my 50" blower and 13 PTO hp tractor. Of the ones I find with the blower, half pass through with minimal commotion. The other half jam, break or stall my little tractor and blower. :(
Funny thing is, I think the add bag guy lives across the river from me. After the Christmas snow storm he was burning bundle after bundle after bundle of the brand of material that comes in the add bags. I guess weather was too bad for him to get out and drop one in my lane.
Anyone else have unwanted stuff tossed in your lane on a weekly basis?

Not in the lane or yard... But I found out that if I write unsolited mail, return to sender junk mail goes away. Mail carrier might toss it, but its not in my box anymore.

It's just part of the landscape around here; as unavoidable as death & taxes. I remember my dad getting downright apoplectic about it - he hated waste in any form. He actually spent some time making a contraption to roll all the junk mail we got into little logs to feed the wood stove. They mostly created a bunch of ash and didn't give off steady heat quite the way a hunk of red oak does.

One thing I learned from my good neighbor is that they can't put that cr@p in your mailbox for fear of retribution from the gumment, so they toss it near the mailbox. But if you stick a hook on the mailbox post, they'll hang it from that. That may help you avoid having to buy so many shear pins and keep your fire starter relatively dry, compared to if it just gets left on the ground.

My laneway is a 600m long right of way that ends up in the village. My mail box is at the local post office. There's no opportunity to put a post up. Seven properties down this lane (six out of sight of the road) so I'm glad they only throw one add bag. I work from home and keep busy without regular trips out the lane. I just need to make more of an effort to get out there on what ever day they toss this thing. Some of the flyers do make good fire starter. Others are terrible, seemingly fire resistant.
