That green paint sure is expensive

I have a Yanmar 424 in need of the 50 hour fluids and filter change. Local dealers don't carry the filter for the HST in stock but can order for $13.00 & change.

Just for kicks I stopped at the local Deere dealer knowing that a Deere is practically a re-badged Yanmar. Not only did they have the filters in stock, $13.00 for the filter and and extra $25.00 for the green paint for a grand total list price of $38.00.

My JD filters are black and they must be cheaper than the green ones.

Green paint IS expensive. I priced a can of JD Green paint when I built my ROPS FOPS cage, $10/spray can. Same can in rust oleum is about $6

My local auto-parts shop carries Yanmar compatible fuel & oil filters... however I found this out after I needed a fuel filter during haying season. I couldn't take the chance that the auto-parts place would have one so I made the trip (4 hrs round) to my JD dealership, who did have one & opened up early for me IOT get the part.

Later on I did inquire at the auto-parts place. The price difference was only A$1.50 more for the JD.

This tells me (and re-assures me) that my local JD Dealership is not out to gouge me. YMMV.
