The dog and I are on the back porch drinking coffee and watching the fog lift on this cool morning. Sending thank you notes to our family and friends that served. Thank you for our freedom.

In southern Oregon, just across the border from Nevada, is the crash site of a B-24 bomber that went down during a training mission during WWII. Difficult to get to but there is a memorial to the crew. In this shot one of the engines is festooned with flags; among other debris can be seen a landing gear and another engine up by my quad.

Just for perspective to see how big those engines really were, here's my full-size Yamaha Kodiak parked beside once of them.

This engine didn't survive the crash as well as the one above....

The ensuing fire (burning fuel) was so hot there are streams of melted aluminum over the whole area.
