Saw this in the news. Hahaha....now you know your new car has been thoroughly tested.

OAKVILLE, Ont.湧ine people face racing charges after police say a pack of vehicles being taken to a Ford Motor Co. plant were clocked doing twice the speed limit in Oakville, Ont.

Halton regional police say they received numerous calls about a group of vehicles travelling at high speed on Trafalgar Road in the city west of Toronto謡ith many callers saying the vehicles appeared to be racing.

Officers set up a speed measuring device and police say nine vehicles were spotted driving in a tight pack and clocked at speeds ranging from 120 to 127 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

The vehicles were all pulled over and eight men and one woman謡ho range in age from 26 to 52 years old謡ere charged with racing a motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police say the new vehicles were being moved to the Ford plant in Oakville from a storage lot in nearby Milton, Ont., and the drivers were employees of a company hired by the automaker to shuttle vehicles.

All were released and are scheduled to appear in court on May 13.

Sounds like standard modern industrial management to me:
1) Outsource the contract so you don't have to pay much salary and no benefits.
2) Craft the contract so that it's almost impossible to meet the quota.
3) Craft the contract so that not meeting the quota results in a cash penalty.
4) Feel nothing but contempt for the sucker who wins the contract bid.

Supply and demand. If nobody bids low, the contract goes high.

Hahaha, sounds just like trucking. We all complain about low rates and high fuel and the scabs still keep cutting the rates.

My father lived near a port when growing up, some folks he knew had jobs moving imported cars from the ships to compounds in the city for the dealers and it was always a race. I believe they were paid by the vehicle moved. When a load of a new car, the Subaru 360 came in (look it up quirky looking thing) they made the news with one of them rolling a brand new car in town.
