You must not be using a computer to post with.

What happens when you click Edit Post?

Yes, I am using a computer. Up until this morning I got three options when I clicked on Edit Post.
Save Go Advanced Cancel
This morning when I click Edit Post I get Save Go Advanced Delete Cancel, just like you said it would. Apparently Bird or somebody fixed the problem. Sorry for cluttering up the board. A few days ago I posted in the wrong forum and simply wanted to delete my post and move it to the right one.

It would be good to know what fixed it.

Maybe a option on your settings page?

None of the moderators have the ability to alter any settings in the forums or control any individual user settings. We do not control any functions on TBN.

Bird didn't change anything.

I don't even know how to get to the settings page or change the options. I haven't done anything different. I am using Chrome browser.

Click "My Home" at the top of any page, Settings are on the left:

500 posts? I posted 2 times and tried to delete both of them immediately. When I click on Edit Post there is no option to delete. Sorry for cluttering up your board. I'll try not to bother you again.

It would be good to know what fixed it.

Maybe a option on your settings page?
What forum was it originally posted in? Some TBN subforums (ie: "Friendly" Politics) are set so that you cannot delete your posts, only edit them.
IIRC there is a 24 hour limit on editing and/or deleting a post in all forums.

Re: Test #2

If you need something deleted or removed and don’t have the option to do so just PM a moderator and ask them to assist.
And you don't have to PM a moderator. Just use the "report post" button (that little triangle with the exclamation mark in it) and give a reason. All the mod staff will see it and one of them will handle the request/report. :)
It should look like this:
report-40b.png
and sit in the bottom left corner of every post.
As MossRoad said, that way all of the moderators see it and if the one you PMed is busy or not near a computer, someone else will see it. Also, if there is a problem between two members, all of the moderators can be aware of it that way.

I just checked post # 4 at 10:56:15 and the "Edit Post" button is gone.

It was still there at 10:55:50. So 24 hours to Edit is correct.

If Somebody else pointed this out than I missed it. You can delete a post for 24 hours but you cannot delete a thread which you have started, nor can you edit the title.
No doubt you have already figured that out.

I think you can edit the thread title if you started it, within 24 hours.

If no replies to a started thread and you delete your post, the thread is deleted.

You can change the thread title for only your post, as shown above.

Only the admin can edit thread titles and delete threads.
As I'm sure you just found out on your own "test" thread.

There is no Delete button when I click Edit, but I did edit the Thread title.

Okay, I did not think a user could do either.
I know users can't delete threads.

Wow, looks like it stayed at what I changed it to. On the Polaris forum that I am on it stays the original title for the subsequent posts.

I know users can't delete threads.

I am sure that I have deleted the first post and the Thread before, but maybe it was the other forum

I just discovered that the first post doesn't have the Delete button.

I am thinking that the post you clicked this morning was one of your later posts, since your first post was over 24 hours old and would not have an Edit button..

I would really like to know if a user can delete a thread shortly after posting it. In my case I posted my thread in the wrong forum by mistake, realized my mistake and tried to delete it.

After reading about 10 different answers it is apparent to me that NOBODY knows the answer, including (especially) moderators. I guess this will be one of the 都ecrets of this forum. 😀😀

Try creating another post in this forum and deleting it. That will let you know in about 30 seconds.

Users cannot delete threads. Users can push the report post button and ask to have it removed, though. That's easy enough.
