1999 29D and the hst pedal sticks in fwd and reverse. I took the spring out and it seems fine. Greased everything and adjusted, but the pedal still stays whichever way it’s pushed. I also unhooked the wiring to the cruise since it wanted to stay engaged once pushed. Am I missing another adjustment point? Do I need to replace something?

One of the things I did concerning the cruise control sticking was to glue 3 or 4 short strips of a nylon zip tie to the surface of the cruise magnet. It still holds when energized but releases cleanly when shut off.

Did you lube the shaft that the cruise paddle rides on? There is also a damper (sba378910020) that slows the pedal movement. Then there is the peddle centering device that has a spring, rod, and guides inside and it is suppose to get the pedal to neutral when released.

I adjusted and greased this spring. The further down I went with the nut, the more the forward pedal would come back to center. But reverse wouldn’t and there was less travel for reverse.
I think this is the centering device?
Where would I find the damper?
The cruise is completely unhooked. I had to use a screwdriver to release the magnet from the pedal. Something is wrong with the return for that.

Further thought on the issue, and I recall the cruise control plate was rubbing on the fuel tank. I had to remove it and grind it down to provide more clearance.

I dought it's the damper. I replace mine and it did nothing. look for bent linkage or on mine the main bracket was bent. Lift the tractor off the ground and move the pedal from forward to reverse look for worn or bent parts.

Loading the parts cannon gets really expensive when dealing with CNH. Ask me how I know. The manual has a procedure for setting neutral on the pedal. 🍻
