I do enjoy this forum and I hope I am not one of the offenders - don't think I have ever asked for a video or insisted on pictures. I try to be civil and give comments on matters I know about and to NOT offer "opinions" on on matters of repair or direction that I have no expertise in.
I have seen some of the increase in "less than civil" responses in some recent threads.
I tend to only read subjects I am interested in so I usually miss the "political" threads on TBN, since I am here for tractor and/or practical matters that pertain to tractor and tractor related matters.
I sometimes ask questions to get a clearer picture when someone asks for help. I also offer suggestions based on my experience - if someone has another idea, that is fine. If someone doesn't want to listen, that is fine.
I will say that something that I do tend to dislike is a thread that becomes bitter and nothing but a "I know best" back-and-forth. And, to make it worse, a thread that is started by the OP with what seems to be a simple question and it blows up into a heated thread that veers away from the actual problem that was posed - and to make it worse, the OP never comes back.
It might help if, when we start a thread, we would stay active in that thread and let it be known that the issue was resolved - That is what I try to do - that might help some of the threads from running away and deteriorating into nothing good.
Let's see if we can get TBN to be as friendly and helpful as it used to be and do our part to keep it civil.
