If it worked okay, that would absolutely be a buy. I owned an 850 and they are bulletproof tractors. Perfect for a 5' rotary cutter.

Yanmar built the John Deere 850 compact utility tractor in Japan, and John Deere distributed it. The John Deere 850 was produced from 1978 to 1989 and had a 1.3L 3-cylinder diesel engine with 25 horsepower. The tractor was available in two- or four-wheel drive options
