this may seem like a silly question...I just purchased a 5103 and noticed at the 1600 rpm mark on the tach there is a small symbol....(*E is what it looks like...what is this for? The same symbol is at the 2500 rpm mark, which I know is for the best power output for the PTO. Anyone know why this symbol is also located at 1600 rpm mark?

I am betting that is the Economy pto setting. Usually there would be two positions for the pto, the economy one lets the engine run at lower speed to still get 540 rpm, burning less fuel. You won't get as much pto hp, but often it is plenty.
