This one you can probably guess at.

Has anyone put a sweeper (rotary broom) on their CK-20?

I figured it could be powered with a hydraulic motor from the rear remotes, thus also allowing it to be run in reverse to pull back from corners. It could most likely take the place of the bucket (pin on is OK).

Thoughts anybody?

Thanks!

Jon

I got a wild hair and bought a 3ph, pto driven one from a junk yard for $50 off of ebay. It looks like it needs the shrould repaired, but is other wise not bad, especially for the price. I haven't picked it up yet. It's quite a drive to pickup (NW Jersey). I'm now having second thoughts as to whether it's worth the effort to fix it up and keep it hanging around. So I might just right off the $50 as a loss. Anyone want it? I'll give it away to a TBN'r.

I guess the point is you can get 3ph, pto versions that don't use hydraulics. They are cheaper too. Not sure the CK's have enough hydraulics to run a hydromotor unit. These things take some torque to operate when engaged with the ground.

Hi Gittyup,

Do you happen to have a picture of that one?

The power required is something to consider, for sure.

Thanks,

Jon

I don't a photo and the ebay post has long since been deleted. I might have saved a photo at work. I'll look on Monday.

It is a Hyster Sweepster, 5' wide. Brush was in pretty good condition, as were gears and chain. It came with a drive shaft. The real issue is that the plastic shroud is split about 2/3 of the way across. I had planned on patching it with a fiberglass patch kit. Other than sitting out in the weather, it looked to all be in working order. Guy said it worked when it came in there on a busted tractor, but had been sitting in the weather for years. It was the brush condition that led me to believe that it might be a worth while project.

The new sweepsters are pretty much the same. You check them out on their website.
