If I were you, I'd make sure I keep that broken piece and also recorded the conversation with the dealer. That way if you found problem past the warranty period, you may still get it covered. By the way, recording the conversation on a log book is usually good enough. Just make sure you logged down date, time, who, and what was discussed.

Yes, I have the gear drive 20. And I called Kioti in NC to make sure they knew about it! THEN I went to my dealer and told him about it too just to cover my butt. I then looked at the illustrated parts manual figuring they would have snap ring diameters listed, yeah, right, no such luck! If anyone has ever looked at a Kioti translated parts book, you know what I mean. Example; say #8 points to a snap ring, you look at the list and it says "gear" not snap ring or retaining ring! Thought maybe if I could get rough size then I'd have an idea as to where it may go and how serious it may be. So right now the best guess we have, is that it may be off the PTO shaft and if it is, that wouldn't be too bad since all that can be pulled out the back with out splitting the cases.
My next concern is if it does go "bang" while I'm in the middle of doing a job for a customer, what do I do about finishing the job? My dealer did say he'd come out and "drag" it on his trailer and get it to his shop but that won't help me finish the or the other jobs I have scheduled. Ummm, maybe he let "use" a CK30 till mine's repaired, you know, just to try it out /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Other than the piece of snap ring, did you have very much metal on your magnet? I did my fifty hour service last week and had a less than a quarter teaspoon. For some reason I was expecting a bit more. After looking high and low for Delvac 1, I ended up with Rotella T Synthetic 5W-40 in the engine. I've since found a mail order source for the Delvac so I'll switch over at 100 hours. Super UDT went into the main hydraulic/transmission reservoir while Traveler UTF went in the front axel. I've been greasing with Mobil 1 syn grease, and found two new grease points while I was doing the service. I’d been missing the brake linkage up to that point /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I hope your errant piece of snap ring causes you no trouble.

Like you, I found way less then a quarter teaspoon of metal on the drain plug. Wish I had a magnetic engine oil plug. I put Red Line 15w-40 synthetic Diesel oil in. Chevron 1000 THD in the tranny and refilled the front axle with Lucus Heavy Duty 80-90 gear oil. Found oil leaking from between where the front drive shaft goes into the front axle. After scratching my head for awhile figuring how to fix this (hate leaks) I just tightened the front axle pivot bolt as discribed in the owner manual and it stopped!
