Went to the local dealer today to pick up a suicide knob, spare keys and a gallon of hydraulic fluid in case I need to top off the transmission. Got the keys for all my sons (4), the suicide knob (didn't have an orange one, but yellow looks good) and asked for Super UDT. A suprised look came to the face of the parts man. "Super UDT...never heard of it. We always use the UDT."

I guess that says a lot for Super UDT in my neck of the woods.

Kevin -- I guess it depends on local conditions. I have regular UDT in my L3010, but after seeing how incredibly thick it got in winter (my hydro filter blew a gasket and the stuff leaked out like molasses) I'll be making the change this summer. Would have done it sooner, but don't relish the maintenance stuff when the ground is frozen and the wind chill is in the minus teens.

I think dealers are slowing begining to stock it as the Kubota manuals will begin calling for it. My L48 recommends Super UDT. My dealer carries lots of it. He has it in 2.5 gallon containers as well as smaller ones. $25.00 for 2.5 gallons is what I paid. Right on the container of Super UDT it says its for cold weather operation. I don't live in weather that gets below freezing very often, but I still like the idea of starting it up in 40 degree weather with a more fluid hydraulic oil since it is a hydrostatic transmission, Rat
